PRE-INCUBATION TRAINING PROGRAM

Pre-incubation training of 16 weeks is a pre-requisite to full time incubation program.


WEEK 1: INTRODUCTION
▸ Agribusiness development: Provide inputs to primary producers in the form of goods and services;
▸ Add value to primary products (i.e. agro-processors) and play a “catalytic” role in terms of enhancing efficiency, quality and market access across the value chain.
Assignment: Develop an integrated value chain for your enterprise
Workshop: Foundation course on compliance and regulations for Agri-businesses


WEEK 2: GLOBAL PRACTICES IN AGRI-BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
▸ Farmer-enterprise (F-2-B) relationship
▸ Government-enterprise (G-2-B) relationship
▸ Business-Business (B-2-B) relationship
▸ Case studies from ASEAN, EU, US, New Zealand, Australia and India on forward-backward supply chain integration, business models, Food Parks, Food processing et al.
Workshop: Foundation course on company structuring


WEEK 3: ON-FIELD TRAINING (Include technology demonstrations)


WEEK 4: ENABLING ACCESS TO TECHNOLOGIES
▸ Emphasize on usage of available technologies to enhance productivity
▸ IP and technology commercialization models in agriculture sector
▸ Enhancing competitive advantage by technology usage
▸ Assignment: Create your IP portfolio
Workshop: Linking technology feasibility with market exploration


WEEK 5: MARKET EXPLORATION
▸ Multistage market segmentation alignment for understanding market opportunities
▸ Market research, building B-2-B strategies, and value proposition
▸ Assignment: Out of building market exploration exercise
Workshop: Design market alignment in B-2-B strategy for your business


WEEK 6: EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT RESOURCE ALLOCATION
▸ Role of men and machinery in agriculture sector
▸ Process standardization and certification
Workshop: Project management
▸ Mentor Assignment


WEEK 7: MARKETING – TECHNIQUES & SKILLS
▸ Multistage marketing, customer acquisition and retention
▸ Integrated marketing communications and brand building
▸ Negotiation skills, stakeholder engagement, competition analysis
▸ 1-on-1 mentoring sessions begin

WEEK 8: FIELD TRIP


WEEK 9: FINANCING A NEW VENTURE
▸ Better financial management, credit ratings, budget preparation
Workshop: Accounting practices and 1-on-1 mentoring
Assignment: Develop a financial budget for 1 year


WEEK 10: FUNDING AN AGRI BUISNESS & GROWTH STRATEGIES
▸ Investment instruments, company valuation, term sheets – definition and clause
▸ Appropriate investment strategies and 1-on-1 mentoring
Assignment: Develop a 5-year projected cash flow
Workshop: Commercial viability of agri-businesses


WEEK 11, 12:NATIONAL/ INTERNATIONAL VISITS


WEEK 13, 14: WRITING/ RE-WRITING THE BUSINESS PLAN, 1-on-1 mentoring

WEEK 15: VALIDATING THE BUSINESS PLAN, 1-on-1 mentoring


WEEK 16: PREPARATION FORPITCH DAY & GRADUATION
